STAGECRAFT 1 & 2

Do you like to work with your hands? Do you like to do wood working? You interested in taking a wood shop/ painting/ construction class?  Do you like to sew or have interest in costume construction? Do you like a fast paced, on your feet,  and interactive class? Are you curious about what goes on in the auditorium? Ever wanted to venture to  the catwalks, the grid, the shop, costume room and the tech booth?  Ever wanted to be on stage, behind the scenes, or just involved?  STAGECRAFT is your place to be. This one semester course offers a variety of opportunities in the world of theatre.  Students will participate in shop safety work, developing skills in the wood shop, learn effective stage construction skills, learn real-life skills to bring plans to reality, learn how to work as a high level performance team to meet deadlines, work at own pace, and above all use power tools, paint, sew, and earn creditials that will take you beyond the world of Southridge High School Theatre. Stagecraft 2 allows students to take training and leadership roles, and goes more in depth to the construction process and tech aspects of the productions.
